The 80 day story of future cities
- "Global Fair & Festival 2009 Incheon, Korea " Opens

In August, small cities full of excitement and fun will be created in Incheon. Global Fair & Festival 2009 Incheon, Korea will run from August 7th to October 25th in Incheon’s Songdo International City. Its slogan is “Lightening Tomorrow”. It is the first international festival held with “cities” as its theme.

All of the major venues are themed as small cites where visitors can have tons of fun. In the event areas, visitors can watch exhibitions, enjoy some food and relax. The major exhibitions include the Robot Science Future Pavilion, the Advanced Technology Plaza, the Green Growth Hall, the Teddy Bear exhibition, the World Culture Street, the Global City Pavilion and the Domestic and Overseas Business Mall. During the festival, visitors can experience what future cities will be like. Information on exhibitions, performances and events will be provided to suit the various needs of visitors. Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese language services will be available.

Must-See 10 events!
1. Theme Theater
Visitors can see the 3D animation called City Paradiso. This large-scale animation is created by advanced media technology. Also, a special show will feature holograms and a variety of performances including magic and pantomime.

2. Robot Science Future Pavilion
Visitors can see many robot animals in the “Robot Zoo”. Also, there will be exciting exhibitions such as a world robot soccer match and robot battle.

3. World Culture Street
The exhibition will offer fascinating glimpses of different cultures from all over the world such as a knife fight on a Trojan horse and a marionette performance under water. Every day, thrilling events will be held for the enjoyment of visitors. Visitors can also try international foods that they cannot eat elsewhere.

4. Multimedia Water Show
This show will display the perfect harmony of digital technology and art. The fantastic laser beam show at the fountain will stimulate visitors’ imagination and make you wonder at the ingenuity of the human imagination.

5. Incheon International Digital Art Festival (INDAF09)
Its theme is “Future cities where people communicate with one another in happiness”. More than 50 digital artists from 12 countries will feature artworks created by new media art and advanced technologies.

6. Urban Planning Exhibition Center
The exhibition will feature how Incheon has developed as far as it has as a major city and its future vision. The 360-degree revolving center will be equipped with high technology facilities.

7. Tomorrow City
Visitors can experience firsthand future “lives” created by ubiquitous technology.

8. Green Growth Hall
The hall will feature a 3D ocean environment. Also, the exhibition highlights the importance of energy. The plant Jatropha, whose oil is getting a lot of attention as an alternative energy source, will be grown in a separate corner of the hall. Also, a hybrid street light and a solar block will be on display.

9. Incheon Bridge
From Incheon Bridge, which is a landmark of Incheon, people can enjoy fantastic shows including splendid fireworks, brilliant laser light shows and water screens.

10. Cirque Eloize’s New Show ID to Premiere in Korea
Canadian circus troupe Cirque Eloize's brand new show, ID, will premiere at the Global Fair & Festival 2009 Incheon, Korea. The art circus’s theme is “Speed, Spectacle, Special”. The troupe’s founder, Jeannot Painchaud directed the show.
